WARNING!

This article contains elements of cannibalism that may be disturbing to some people.

Entity Number: 10-ID
Habitat: ± 25°C - 39°C water temperature.

Safety Guide

Recognize the symptoms produced by Mega Buari to anticipate them. Symptoms include body aches, lumps of fat appearing all over the body, a weakened sense of touch, and a drastically enlarged body size. If Mega Buari infects you through a wound, and you suspect a wound on your body, immediately burn the wound and the area around the wound using anything. This is enough to kill the bacteria before it spreads to the rest of the body, but if there is absolutely no wound on your body, it's possible that you accidentally drank or inhaled contaminated water-if this happens, you can only calm down and hope that God will give you peace of mind because your death awaits. There is no cure that you can rely on. Strenuous exercise that increases your body temperature may slow your death. Suicide may be an option to avoid suffering.

Description

The appearance of Mega Buari under a microscope.

Mega Buari is a harmful bacteria that can be found in moist waters or surfaces with temperatures around 25°C to 39°C, although it is often only found in waters with temperatures below 35°C. It can live in both fresh and salt water. Through microscope observation, Mega Buari has a round shape with a dangling tail. This bacterium has a very rapid reproductive ability, so its presence in an area can be very abundant and pose a significant threat to survivors.

Mega Buari can infect humans or animals by entering through the nostrils, mouth or through wounds. Subjects infected by this bacteria will go through several stages of transformation. The resulting symptoms can vary but generally include body aches and fat lumps (lipomas) that appear all over the body. Within a few hours, other symptoms will appear, such as a weakened sense of touch and an enlarged body size. This is caused by the bacteria triggering multiple cell divisions in the host. In many cases, infected humans are estimated to even weigh more than 600 kilograms1 and stand more than 5 meters tall. If left unchecked, the host will become even larger and will be unable to move before eventually dying of dehydration or starvation.

The victim's immune system is known to be inoperative, so the body cannot fight the infection by increasing body temperature - instead, the victim will slowly begin to experience a significant drop in body temperature. As long as it is still receiving nutrients, the host of Mega Buari will somehow stay alive during the transformation process. Several autopsies conducted, revealed facts related to the shrinking brain volume in the host, especially in the thalamus2. This allows the host to feel less pain during the transformation process. In addition, the host's consciousness will also decrease. A dead host will not be able to carry out the transformation process. The growth transformation process in the host may be unstable. An example would be new organs growing, such as multiple hands and/or feet growing.

History

Information regarding the origin or when the entity was first discovered is unknown. Previously, many people began to spread rumors related to the cannibal community in Level 14-ID, namely the Mautilus Cult who used a potion that could increase the size of humans and animals so that they could get more food. The potion in question is water that has been contaminated by Mega Buari. Ironically, the Mautilus Cult even gives their babies water that has been contaminated by Mega Buari when their food supply is running low. Humans or animals that have undergone body enlargement are not immediately eaten, but rather dried in the hot sun or directly cooked first so that the existing Mega Buari dies and becomes safe for consumption.
