Level 19-ID is the 20th level of Backrooms Indonesia.
Description
Level 19-ID is a maze-like tunnel structure with a tunnel diameter of no more than one meter. The extent of the maze itself is unknown as none of the wanderers were able to explore further and preferred to exit the level immediately. There are no light sources inside the tunnels and any lighting source can't functioning inside this level.
Wanderers describe the conditions inside the level with different characteristics, but there are similarities in all the descriptions, such as:
- The entire surface of the tunnel is made of a material that is smooth and a bit squishy when pressed, some wanderers describe it as being like a cloth filled with cotton. The walls and ceiling are dry and cold, but the floor is wet and very soft1.
- The smell in the tunnels is known to be unbearably foul, described as "fouler than fishy/rotten meat and more penetrating than ammonia" and many wanderers experience nausea, dizziness, vomiting, and fainting because of this smell. This scent is known to not carried over outside the level.
- The level gave wanderers a "fear of cramped spaces" and "fear of being eaten" sense of dread. Wanderers with no history of claustrophobia will also be affected by these effects. Wanderers with claustrophobia will have the fear doubled and will suffer hysterics and fainting.
- No useful objects can be found in this level.
- Various sounds can be heard in the level but the source is unknown, such as: sounds of moving entities, inhuman screams, scratching or tearing objects, people vomiting loudly, vibrations or earthquakes, farting sounds, people breathing loudly, and various indistinct sounds that cannot be described.
- A phenomenon where the wanderer is touched, held, pulled, or even hit by something unknown. This phenomenon only occurs to wanderers who enter this level alone or in small group. It is unknown whether this phenomenon comes from the entity or from the level itself.
- Thick, sticky liquids may also randomly appear in the tunnels. This liquid can make it difficult for wanderers to move around. This liquid will disappear if it is taken out of the level even if it has soaked the wanderer's body (the wanderer will be dry) or has been collected into a container.
- Sometimes the tunnel walls will move to pinch or push the wanderer for several meters. This movement is described as "peristalsis"—a movement found in the human esophagus that pushes food from the mouth to the stomach.
- Wanderers who died inside the level would have their bodies absorbed by the tunnel walls, attempts to salvage the body as a whole were always unsuccessful as nearby wanderers would have a "panic attack" and would try to move away from the location quickly.
Due to the various characteristics attached above, wanderers have categorized this level as a "Disgusting Level". Exploration efforts were halted and entry into the level was permanently closed due to the large number of victims who were traumatized, disappeared, or even died due to the circumstances within this level. Wanderers who make it out of the level will suffer from trauma, hallucinations, shortness of breath, weakness, acute nausea, vomiting accompanied by diarrhea, and various other digestive disorders. Using [[[object-1|Almond Water]] is known to be quite effective in suppressing the effects of trauma and various diseases suffered by wanderers.
