SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY:
Class 3
- {$one}
- {$two}
- {$three}
Level 31-ID is the 32nd level of Backrooms Indonesia.
Description
Level 31-ID is an East Asian temple-like structure of unknown size that is made entirely of dark blue-black wood and stone. The wood that makes up this level is quite fragile so survivors must walk slowly and carefully, it is unknown what is under the floor because each hole in the floor only displays a dark black color. The majority of the structure in this level is in the form of a labyrinth hallway with few rooms, these rooms are: prayer room, kitchen room, storage room, and rest room.
Lighting in this level is minimal and only comes from candles found in the prayer room and windows that show the area outside the structure, so survivors are advised to bring their own lighting devices. The area outside the structure shows that the level is locked at night and there are no clouds or stars-only a white moon. Foodstuffs and important objects such as Almond Water can be found in the kitchen room in large quantities so this room is usually a priority for survivors. The only known entities in this level are Hounds and Smilers, survivors have been warned to be careful where they step when running away from them.
The environment in this level is known to be unstable as there will be random fires regardless of location, survivors can suddenly be caught in a blaze that will burn a random section of the level. The burnt part of the level will not recover and will become difficult to traverse as it will become very fragile. This fire phenomenon continues to occur randomly without a clear cause so survivors must be very careful in the level. Even though this level has a ton of dangers in it, survivors are known to still visit this level for various purposes.
The Red Ferret

Two digital reconstructions of the famous Red Ferret illustration.
There is a suspicion that there used to be a previous civilization at this level although it is not known why they are no longer in existence, this suspicion comes from the presence of many relics featuring the figure of a red-furred ferret that is seen as worthy of a god—later considered a belief. Evidence of this belief can be found in worship objects such as statues, symbols, drawings, and old manuscripts, all of which feature a red ferret. It is not known whether this red ferret is a real entity or just a fictional creature of those who once lived at this level, but the number of items that include the figure of the red ferret is considered quite abundant.
Stories about the red ferret can be found in many old manuscripts that survivors can easily find, usually they tell about the majesty of the ferret while some tell about the harmonious relationship of the ferret with the human group. All the stories told basically have a similar pattern, the Red Ferret defeats a terrifying monster and then becomes a figure glorified by the humans who have fallen victim to the monster. What is interesting about these stories is the similarity between the locations and monsters in the stories and the levels and entities in Backrooms, it is not known whether these stories are fictional or actually happened in the levels.
The Red Ferret itself is also not just a ferret that is able to defeat its opponent, but is also able to change its form into whatever it needs to defeat its opponent. This is because many illustrations depict the ferret being able to change its form into various mixtures of living things such as growing wings, fins, tentacles, and others. This indicates that the Red Ferret itself is a mystical entity, which unsurprisingly attracts a lot of attention from survivors who want to know more about it. After some time after this level was made explorable by the public, many survivors became interested in finding out about what civilizations once existed in this level as well as about the ferret. They even formed teams to explore the level to solve the mystery of the mysterious civilization and the Red Ferret. However, after a few weeks with no news, the group was later pronounced missing.
Bases, Outposts and Communities
The Red Ferret's Follower
It is a group of mysterious individuals who appear only after the level is opened to the public. Their entire body is covered in red cloth and their face is covered by a ferret mask, they will also sometimes carry trinkets symbolizing ferrets on their body. This group is quite dangerous because they will try to force survivors to join them or make survivors as sacrifices to the Red Ferret. The group is scattered throughout the level and is known to be constantly on the move, but they are still quite rare to find due to the vastness of the level. Not much is known about the details of this group other than their strong belief in the Red Ferret.
